Complete
Resource For Check Engine Light Repairs!
Engine light on again? Don't panic, these types of concerns don't
necessarily have to mean an expensive repair...honestly! This site
is dedicated to assisting you with those troublesome engine light
concerns! We really enjoy helping both the general public and professional
technicians alike, with the complex issue of diagnosing and repairing
faults which can cause the check engine, or service engine soon light
to illuminate.
With that said, let me introduce myself. My name is Michael and I
have been a professional technician in the automotive industry for
more than 14 years. Due to the ever changing technology associated
with the Electronic Engine Control systems in todays vehicles, I still
learn something new everyday. As a Master Certified Technician, I
am fortunate enough to be provided with routine manufacturer training
which allows me to stay current on all aspects of check engine light
and trouble code diagnosis. I also, apparently much like you, do a
lot of online research, looking to see what kinds of problems and
solutions are currently being addressed. I began finding a lot of
misinformation and very vague help attempts for questions regarding
emissions control systems, and the "service engine soon" light in
particular. It also seemed to be very time consuming and frustrating
sorting through the forums to find specific vehicle information. These
observations prompted me to work at providing a site where a visitor
could come and get specific information for trouble code diagnosis
which would be accurate, timely and complete. It is rare that a repair
for a check engine light can be fixed simply by resetting it or disconnecting
the battery. The dreaded light will return! Don’t be mad however,
the light is only the messenger. It is simply doing it’s very important
job letting you know that your vehicle isn’t operating at top efficiency....and
this is a good thing!
The Malfunction Indicator Lamp (MIL), is not only for the vehicles
emission system as some techs would have you believe. This light informs
the operator when there is a problem anywhere in the vehicles Electronic
Engine Control System. This system basically includes all sensors,
solenoids, valves, actuators etc. that your vehicle needs to operate
correctly. As I'm sure you’ve concluded, this system is huge, and
can include both engine and transmission concerns. This is where we
come in! With only a few basic tools, a little patience and some mechanical
aptitude you can pinpoint and repair most of these concerns yourself.
So fear not, we can help you with that!
At engine-light-help.com we strive to provide a quick and easy way
to help consumers and other field professionals get all the information
needed to diagnose engine light concerns. Even if your vehicle is
being serviced by the manufacturing dealer it is still great practice
to be educated on what is going on with your car. You may find simply
being more educated on the possible causes of these trouble codes
could save you from having your vehicle "over-repaired" (see our article
here). Either way we hope
you find our site easy to navigate and helpful. We are always open
to suggestions so if you’d like to see something done differently
let us know! Thanks for stopping in, and remember we’re here to help!
